10.000 and counting!

As the hit counter of this blog of mine incredibly reached and passed the 10.000 visits (!!!), many things have happened in our beloved rugby world: Aussie legend George Smith announced his retirement from International rugby, Scotland Chris “Mossy” Paterson and Thom Evans were ruled out of the 6 Nations due to severe injuries (thankfully they’re both recovering well), Wales back-rower Andy Powell was ruled out of 6 Nations too but because he has been arrested for driving a golf buggy while unfit through drink, hours after Wales had beaten Scotland (very silly indeed!), Ireland defeated England at Twickenham for the 3rd time in 6 years (I think!) in a thrilling game which also saw the Irish captain Brian O’Driscoll off due to a bang on Paul O’Connell‘s knee which left him shaken (but  thankfully he apparently is fine too and will be heading for his 100th cap next game!!), and Italy discovered – for the very first time – that there’s nothing wrong at using offloads! Infact it was an offload beautifully executed by Gonzalo Canale with the support of Pablo Canavosio which gave Italy the winning try, defeating Scotland at Stadio Flaminio in an Agatha Christie’s-like game! Our tiny Italy shew a strong defense, with Mauro Bergamasco rising above all the others,  and even tried to  attack… which is something new for us.  We’re still struggling with the kicking game, especially because we never put pression after a kick, but all in all, we did some progress. But these progresses will have to be confirmed in the next round with mighty France…
