Shane Williams, the best of the year

Shane Williams is the best of the year. No wonders. Shane has been awarded the accolade of IRB Player of the year last Monday 24th during the gala dinner held il London. He topped his team mate and Wales captain Ryan Jones, New Zealand fly-half Dan Carter, Scotland captain Mike Blair and Italy skipper Sergio Parisse.

Shane received the award from fellow winger Bryan Habana, last year’s winner.

In a (rugby) world populated by giants, he is the living example that there’s still place for “human” players. Shane is 170 cms tall and weights 80 kgs, and oddly he follows the steps of another “small” player and winger, Bryan Habana (179 cms & 90 kgs).

Congratulations to Shane and to the Allblacks who scooped up all the other awards!
