Georgie is a Baa-baa too

Wallaby George Gregan

Wallaby legend George Gregan

George Gregan, the most capped player of the world (139 caps with Australia with 59 as Captain) is the latest player to join the Barbarians side to play his former team mates on December 3rd, for the London Olympic Centenary Match at Wembley.

Georgie, who filled the gigantic boots of John Eales as Wallabies Captain after Eales’ retirement in 2001, had his debut against Italy in 1994 in Brisbane, won by the Aussies for only 3 points, 23-20.

He has been an emblem for both Australia and his former team ACT Brumbies and after his fifth World Cup in 2007, he moved to Franch club Toulon.

Gregan now plays his football in Japan with Suntory Sungoliath but next December he’ll be wearing the black and white hooped jersey of the Barbarians to join the likes of Richie McCaw, Bryan Habana, Joe Rokocoko and Jerry Collins in a star-studded squad, for one of the most exciting game of the year.
